System Attempts to Open Online Page Multiple Times

I'm using the XP Media Edition and IE7 with the Dell Dimension E510.  Sometimes a page that I'm viewing online will try to open multiple pages.  I've deleted each application (Windows Task Manager), and I submit the error reports to MSN.  Then, I delete my surfing history.  Today, it happened with MS Outlook and it even messed up the sound from the speakers. I switched off but found that I needed to log off before I could get back online.  Is anyone else having a problem like this?
