system turns on at 12 midnight

i have a dell 2400 system   i even redid my system and it did after i was redone  happens the same day i redo the system   and i tryed removeing names to 

its driveing me crazy trying to figur it out

Some systems have an option in the BIOS to turn the system on at a designated time.  Check the BIOS in your system and if it has that option, disable it.

In addition to Fireberd's suggestion, you should disable WOL (Wakeup On Lan) and WOM (Wakeup on Modem) settings while in the BIOS.  Your IP address on the Internet may be the target of less than savory Internet surfers.  You can check your Internet IP address by going to www.myipaddress.com.  Usually, the address shown will be that of your cable or DSL modem.

 

You can check to see if the turn on is caused by the system clock by simply advancing it to ll:55 PM.  Apply the change.  Shut down computer.  If it  turns back on within the next 5 minutes or so, then Fireberd is dead on the money.

I just checked the on-line manual for the 2400 and it does have the BIOS Auto Power On option.

And I would just about bet that when you Enable the Auto Power On option the default time is 12:00 PM, or 00:00 Universal Coordinated Time.
