T3500 Workstation new HDD without recovery partition

I have a Dell Precision T3500 Workstation Xeon Quad Core W3570@3.2GHz

Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A17(Dell)

Dell model:09KPNV rev.A00, Motherboard

8GB 1333MHz DDR3 Ram, 320GB HDD(Western Digital WD3200AAKS-75L9A0)


I have purchased a new 500GB HDD. MY system has a recovery partition on the 320GB boot drive. I'm wondering if it is possible to do away with this partition when I clone the working partition to the new HDD. I would rather have a set of recovery cds or dvds, and do away with the extra hidden recovery partition. Is this possible?  If so where might I find the 'How to'? or 'Step by Step'?
