TASK MANAGER WON'T STAY UP
I have a virus that keeps shutting down the computer. One of the steps is to improve my performance by ending tasks but each time I do CONTROL+ALT+DEL, it comes up and then goes away. Anyone have any suggestions. Thanks so much.

That performance is caused by a virus. What is the name of the virus you are trying to remove? There may be a method other than accessing Task Manager by which it can be removed.

run this

then see if your task bar comes up
if it does then you know like Denny pointed out its probably a virus
scan your computer online at http://security.symantec.com
