Temporary Internet files
I am using windows ME and Exploror 5.5
I deleted all of my temporary Internet files. but when I click on the Temporary Internet Files folder and properties it shows that I have 5 folders with 35,320 files. Do I need these files?
If not how do I delete them. Thanks Dan.

They are safe to delete at any time.
To delete them, either go to Internet Options in the Control Panel and under the Temporary Internet Files header, click Delete Files.
Or, go to Disk Cleanup in:
Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\Disk Cleanup.
Good luck!

-Check out this free utility....I can't seem to get the correct address, but using Google, search for "Emptemp".....should be first result.

I decided to try one of these free utilities too.
You can find a great one called Empty Temp Folders at:
http://www.danish-shareware.dk/soft/emptemp/
I downloaded, installed it and tried it out, and it works great!
I give this one two thumbs up!
Thanks again!

hi guys, i also have 40 subfolders in the C:\windows\temporary internet files\content.IE5
if i try to delete any of these subfolders (alphanumeric names like 89ABCDEF) i get a warning "this a system folder. If you delete it, windows or another program may not work correctly."
shld i still go ahead and delete these subfolders? they have files worth 1GB and its such a space drain. thanks nids
