Temporary Internet files

I am using windows ME and Exploror 5.5

I deleted all of my temporary Internet files. but when I click on the Temporary Internet Files folder and properties it shows that I have 5 folders with 35,320 files. Do I need these files?
If not how do I delete them. Thanks Dan.

I doubt you can delete that many temp files at once. Select2-3 thousand at a time and delete them that way,it should be easier.

These files are stored in this folder so you may go back to a webpage faster that when your previously accessed it before.

They are safe to delete at any time.

To delete them, either go to Internet Options in the Control Panel and under the Temporary Internet Files header, click Delete Files.

Or, go to Disk Cleanup in:
Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\Disk Cleanup.

Good luck!

There was a discussion about this a couple of weeks ago. You might want to read the thread that includes this:

(I tried it with no ill effects.)

Thanks for the info, Akalookn4u.

I decided to try one of these free utilities too.

You can find a great one called Empty Temp Folders at:

http://www.danish-shareware.dk/soft/emptemp/

I downloaded, installed it and tried it out, and it works great!

I give this one two thumbs up!

Thanks again!
