This computer does not meet the requirements for installing software.
Hi guys,
I have several missing driver issues that I am sure would be cured by installing the chipset drivers that I have downloaded from the Dell support site, however, when I try to install the chipset drivers, I get the above message!!!
Can anyone help?!
Laptop is Dell Latitude D630C, originally came with Vista installed but I have done a clean install of XP.
Thanks in advance, Jack

Be sure you've installed the Dell notebook system software and reboot first - - before installing anything else. Also be sure your system is at SP2 before loading drivers.

That said - you SHOULD NOT be using an XP system online - both for your own security and for the sake of not becoming a channel for malware toward others. XP is totally insecure at this point - having seen no security updates in almost four years.

Hi ein63,
Thanks for your reply. I tried the Dell notebook system software but I still can't install the chipset drivers after a re-boot. Do you think its worth trying again after re-installing XP (inc SP3)?
I need to use XP because I'm using some old industrial automation software that will not run on Win7 or above!

Perhaps you are installing the wrong version for your OS.
