Tip: installing a second drive in media center PC

When I installed a second drive (Maxtor 250GB) on my 4600 MCPC with the sole purpose of dedicating it to recorded TV programs, I installed it using the existing Dell interface cable for drive #2. However the read/write speed was too slow and TV would freeze.

After I reinstalled the drive with the supplied ATA/133 PCI Adapter card read/write speed went way up and the problems went away. Now I have room for 80 hours at best quality.
