Transfer e-mail to new computer?

I just ordered a new Dell computer yesterday. I don't have any problems saving and transfering my personal data, re-installing software, etc. However, my Outlook Express is a different story. Twice in the past, I've lost all my e-mail when I upgraded operating systems. Both old and new computers are XP-Pro. This time I hope to be prepared; how can I save my e-mail so I can transfer it to my new computer?

OK, but the trick appears to be simply finding the e-mail.  *.wab was easy enough, and searching for *.dbx showed all the files, but I guess there isn't a folder by that name. Going back to where I found *.wab, the messages are found in "msimn", correct?

RJE49,
Windows XP e-mail for Outlook Express is located in:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\appidnumber\Microsoft\Outlook Express\

Windows XP address book for Outlook Express is located in:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book\

XP data migration tool is great, but I still recommend copying these folders to a ZIP, USB drive, CD-R or CD-R/W (finalized, of course).

Please note that the Local Settings folder is not visible unless Folder Options View is set to show hidden files and folders.  Also note that your username  folder is the name assigned when the user was created.  If you change your login name, the folder still uses the original username.
