unable to delete video file

Question

Please forgive me if the question has already been answered but I've searched and found no help. My problem is I can't delete a video file. I've tried to delete it in safe mode and I get the message that it is being used by another program. I've checked many times and nothing is using it. The file must be corrupt cause it will not play either. Any suggestions???   Thanks.

Try checking the Properties of the avi file and clearing the Read Only box. Then delete it. To see Properties, right click on the file and choose Properties.

Thanks for the info but I found a way of deleting it. I just quarantined it with norton anti-virus and deleted it there. Worked like a charm.

This has been on the forum before, but I can't find the solution either. I've checked the MS Knowledge Base, with no relevant hits. Someone else needs to jump in here.

The box is already unchecked. Still won't delete. I ran G-Spot and the file IS corrupt. Any other suggestions? This file seems to be causing problems. Everything is slow since I downloaded it.
