Unable to Uninstall AOL
Hi there,
Wish all the users of the forum a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year.
I recently bought a laptop with xp operating system which came with AOL preinstalled. As in Uk i am not using it and am using Telewest broadband i tried to uninstall it. It sucessfully uninstalled AOL but every time i start my comp AOL SP SCHEDULER comes on and is not responding. I canot find this programe in the add or remove programe.
How can i completely remove AOL Scheduler so that it does not come on when i start my comp.
Regards

When you thought you un-installed AOL, it still leaves things behind in the Registry and in the Program Files and Common Files. Click on Start, Click on My Computer, Double Click MY LOCAL DISK ICON, Click on Program Files and see anything there that is AOL related and delete it, than click on Common Files and do the same, find anything that is AOL related and delete. This still will leave some Registry AOL items. I don't want you to go into the Registry and mess things up, but do the above to see if this helps.
Normally I just do a complete Reformat and Re-install of windows, when I got the computer to clean everything out and start fresh. This is for those that know what they are doing. Its not difficult, but time consuming. If you do this, save everything that you want to keep on a cdrw or dvd-r.
