Undelete File From My Network Places

I tried searching on both computers and can't find the recent version of the file on either.  The file was a Word document of 100 pages and was last saved today. 

A few days ago, I placed a copy of the file, which was 78 pages then, into My Network Places so that it could be read from the other computer in our house.  That version of the file is all I am finding on my C: drive now.

Apparently, when I was working on it, I opened the file from recent documents in Word.  I simply hit the save button on Word, so it was saving the file to the same place that I was opening it from.  Looking at the recent files in Word, there are two files of the same name, one is listed from Shared Docs and one from my C: drive. 

If Word was saving the file to where it opened it where would it have been saving it to if I opened it through the shortcut in My Network Places?

Those 2 files you found--you should open each and compare and save with slightly different names. "copy1" "copy2" You can look at the properties of the shortcuts to the files and see the path to help you find them. Pay attention to where you are saving documents by looking in the Save In box everytime you save. Word has an annoying habit of saving to the previous save location. Good luck. And make extra backup copies of the 78 page doc you still have.
