Unknown Device in Win 7 Device Manager
I am running the Windows 7 Beta on my Dell Dimension 9200 and I'm liking it so far. However, when I look in Device Manager, there is an "unknown device" listed. When I open the Properties for this device and look under the "Details" tab, it shows "ACPI\AWY0001" under the Hardware IDs category. I've done a Google search and have pretty much come to the conclusion that it has something to do with a missing "Away Mode" driver. If this is the case, and I need to install an Away Mode driver, where can I get one?

I have been having this same issue since Jan 2009 when I purchased my 540S Studio. With a 19-1 card reader. When I insert my photo card (scandisk) I get "DEVICE UNKNOWN" and all device under computer are gone except for the DVD. I look under DEvice Manager like you did and I see a DEVICE Unknow on the USB Device.
The Mass storage disappears. They have replace two card readers, motherboard and send me another computer tower. I have reinstalled, rebooted, restore factory image and even reinstalled Window OS. But the problem still exits. I don't know what else can be done. All I know is that they can not fix it. Good Luck with your, but I can bet you you will never get it fixed. But just in case they do, please let me know.
I believe that I can not even get to chat. I get a 500 Error on Dell Support website. Since they are unable to fix it, I guess they have prohibit me from logging in Dell Support.
