Upgrading XP Home to XP Pro

Has anyone had any experience upgrading an XP Home system to XP Pro?  Anything to watch out for?

Thanks.  I had some problems with my son's 8200 after an upgrade installation that were solved by doing a clean install, but I can't say whether it was the upgrade or something else he might have done that caused the problem.

Nope - Pro and Home are the exact same OS, with some corporate networking features added to pro. They will use all the same drivers.

LMO,

Based on numerous reports in this forum, the odds are heavily in favor of the upgrade having caused the problem.

In that case, are there any recommendations for avoiding problems?  I have a 5150 on order and plan to upgrade to Pro... should I start out with a clean install?

LMO,

There is probably less risk upgrading from XP Home to XP Pro since the basic operating system is the same, but a clean install is guaranteed to avoid problems and since you will be doing it on a new system (with no need to back up personal data) the time required is minimal (less than two hours).
