User names do not appear
The user names have disppeared from the Welcome to XP screen. I can do nothing but turn the computer on and off. Any advice?

i take it u use welcome screen. right when one of your useres appear click CTRL + ALT + DEL twice and log on as your user name.
once you've done that open start menu click control pannel ,then user accounts, then click 'change the way uses log on and off' uncheck both of them. you should now have classic logon.
log off and reboot your machine then repeat the above but tick 'use welcome screen' and 'use fast switching' after that log out and in again to see if it's fixed.
