Vista Drivers for Enhanced Multimedia Keyboard (usb)
Long and the short, I tried a Chat, then email, then Phone, they all end
up the same results, none of the media or shortcut button function
And yes, I have moved the usb port, uninstalled the driver and let it
re-install, looked for updated driver. Tried installing the logitech
setpoint software. Found some logitech multimedia keyboard driver on
their site, and force Vista to do it. I went to Dell's ftp site and downloaded
most(no all) of the input devices patches/drivers, then opening them in
winzip just to see if their might be one. I't all becoming a blur now I have
try so many things.
I try install some hotfixes from microsoft recommended on other threads
here, still no luck. I must have spent 4 hours last night digging thru
the Microsoft site, including the release notes for the upcomming Vista
service pack.
I have read (what I think) is that some people have gotten them to work.
But I guess my question has anyone gotten the "TH836" on Vista Ultimate
to work?
If someone does have it to work, then how do your drivers compare to mine?
Please someone Help....
TH836 KEYBOARD..., 104, UNITED STATES..., MULTI-MEDIA..., BLACK..., LOGITECH...

I know there are several model numbers of the keyboard
based on threads that I have read here on the board.
I am almost believing that now that maybe it's the the firmware
that is encoded on the keyboard. I am shooting at straws.
Anybody got this exact model of keyboard that works?

I went by my work's helpdesk today to borrow a
"Dell Enhanced Multimedia Keyboard" over the weekend
and much to my surprise and delight, it was the same
part number as yours. Great, I going to prove my theory.
WRONG... Same problem, but what was weird, when I stuck
the keyboard model # SK-8135 which looks identical to the
TH836, it starting install drivers. So all to no avail.
So at this point I can only figure that something in the
way Dell loaded the OS, or maybe some of there add-on,
or maybe it's just a Microsoft "feature". Maybe I can
hope it will start working after SP1... Well I can hope
can't I?

I posted last year with regards to finally getting this keyboard to work for me ( Win XP ) and now that I have Vista Ultimate .. no luck!!
I was reading these posts about the keyboard .. it is August 2009 and I am having issues after installing Vista Ultimate. looks like others have had the same problem and a year later there is still not a fix from Dell! I love Dell products but this one is a bit lame don't ya think. It is their product and Vista has been out and running for a long time. I really want my HOT Keys so I guess the question is, Do I stop buying keyboards from Dell or can I find something ( fix ) from another co. to work with this keyboard or..... If I find anything I will post ....:-)

I had the exact same problem after my HDD recently blew up, chances are good you've already moved on, but for anyone having this problem in windows 7 after doing a ton of searching I found reference to the Human Interface Device Service as being Stopped.
Starting that service gave me back access to all the buttons and the sound wheel. So I'm all fixed up.
