Vista not that bad.....

hehehe, same with me. i have had no problems. i have not had one BSD or any problems. i find it very stable, more so then XP. Speed is the same and in some ways faster then XP. Once you master the new interface and learn your way around it is a good OS.

Various small problems here, most being worked on and the "work-arounds" are found as I go along.  Vista is now and is the future.  Why not keep up with technology and install Vista?  There are still fixes for XP and there will always be fixes for Vista.  Learn the operation, which is different from XP and keep up with Windows Update.

Vista Ultimate is OK-ish on my Precision M65, which luckily has a very silent fan. Lots of minor bugs in Explorer and Internet Explorer 7, and Media Player 11 is an absolute disaster (worst Microsoft product since Windows ME), but on the whole it's an improvement over XP.

Vista Ultimate on my Dimension XPS700 on the other hand is a total nightmare, I now have to put up with a fan noise that makes Heathrow Airport look like a quiet whisper, it hangs on every shutdown, and NVidia's drivers are getting worse with every release and they were junk to begin with. The worst part of the Vista experience is the fact that not one third party is up to scratch; hardware drivers either stink or haven't been released yet, and the only software that works entirely without glitches is MS Office 2007.

Don't blame third parties lolly gagging on Vista, they all had time to prepare for Vista and drug their heels.
