Vista Question
I have an Inspiron 531S with Windows Vista. When I go to control panel/performance information and tools/advanced tools/view performance details in events log, I have 1,168 events. This is an example:
Error 2/4/2008 3:46:04 PM Diagnostics-Performance 400 System Performance Monitoring
Warning 2/4/2008 12:12:00 PM Diagnostics-Performance 200 Shutdown Performance Monitoring
Critical 2/4/2008 12:03:44 PM Diagnostics-Performance 100 Boot Performance Monitoring
Do they have anything to do with the "blue screen" I have been getting since I got this computer in September? Are these events something I should take seriously? Should I ignore them? I am new to this computer, so any help would be appreciated.

Vista monitors sooo much in event viewer compared to XP, it would take a rocket scientist to sort it all out.
Mine has 214 since Oct 16th of 2007, so it does look like you have more entries for a similar time period.
You can use "Filter current log" on the right to filter all of your entries, just look at the error and critical ones, warnings don't mean much. Even then what do you do with this info, you have to be sort of a computer detective to make anything of it.
This particular section you are looking at only monitors Vista overall performance, nothing else.
A Blues screen will not be recorded in event viewer anywhere, when you get a bsod it stores the crash info in a minidump.dmp file which takes special software to analyze the file.
So I guess ignore the event viewer unless you know how to use the info.
If you can record the exact and entire blue screen error code and post it, maybe we can help with that.
