Hi,
First, accept my appologies for my poor quality of english.
OK, my PC is a DIMENSION C521
CPU AMD 64Bit X2 4000+
2 Go Ram
O/S: Windows Vista edition familiale Premium (32 Bit), SP1
The problem is :
Each time i use a multimedia apps, over the internet, like youtube. The voice is missing.
The strange thing of this fact is that all the other "background and special effects sounds" are present.
I'm not sure when, exactly, that's began but i think it was before Windows update WMP 10 to WMP11 or the update install the SP1.
I already tried to installed lot of codec ...... reconf InternetEXplorer, ... and try a lot of "advives" find of newsgroups. Then...
On a Microsoft's newsgroup, someone tell me about the possibility of the "grey zone" between the 64bit and the 32bit apps. !?! It is make sens? Do you have other solution ?
At the begin, i was thinking thats was a trouble of Ode Flash player and/or Shockwave.... But, in fact, ALL apps on internet run like that. No matter witch web Browser i use.

Hi every one,
Ok, after spaeking whith Dell tech support; Microsoft newsgroups and technet..... They ALL suggest to re-install Vista....
Hum... i'm someone who like to try EVERYTHING before doing this...in fact, i re-installed Vista the same day i bought my PC, humhum...around 22 mounths ago... and let me tell you that isn't my first time i've bug with it! ;-) Vista is Vista after all lol
Ok! This is what i've done: (remember that i use a french version of Vista so i'm not sure of the real terms in english of apps)
1 - reboot... ---> Open BIOS -----> Disable the Sound Card ------> Save and reboot
2 - In Vista admin user -----> Device manager ----> uninstall sound card driver ( be sure to don't keep the files if windows ask for ).
3 - SHUTDOWN the computer, it's really important... not rebooting..... a real cold reset is necessary.
4 - Reboot ---> Open BIOS -----> Enable the sound Card -----> Save and reboot
5 - In vista admin user -----> Vista will auto detect your sound card, let it re-install the drivers
HO! Surprise! It's work! yaeh!
I don't have thechnical reasons why i got that ? Before i'd try to update the driver, with the DELL driver....with the Sigmatel ones, and the nVidia audio .... no one was looking to work........hum.... in fact.... alll of these goes well, after i do what i whrote before?!?
If i can try to explain, i gonna tell ya that the problem appeaer after, probably, the audio driver update, my son do it in november. In this time i was in a hospital. So, i came back sonn december and this trouble was already there!.... But, an update keep the config...so if else i do thousand of update it do not change nothing... the solution was to physiquely removed the device to reinstalle it....
For sure re-install vista (with the restore partition) fix that! but.... i prefere my way ;-)
