volume control slider
using win xp home
inspirion 11000 laptop
my volume control slider[meter] has disappeared
also my screen brighteness slider meter
how do i get them back,
step by step please

explained== when i hit the Fn / up or down arrow to adjust the screen brightness the meter is gone
also when i hit Fn to adjust the volume the slider meter is gone

I seem to have the same problem after weathering a virus attack. Have you found a way to restore these?

Thanks for your reply. Your response made me keen to find a solution. As it turns out, all that's needed is to re-install the Dell Quickset Application. This can be found on the "Drivers and Utilities" CD which came with your computer.
