What to do with the old patition???
I am trying to reinstall windows XP Home Edition, and I follow the instructions on the Dell manual except when it comes to the part to choose the partition you want to use. In the screen there are only two partitions, the 34 Mb partition that Dell uses, and the drive C where the original windows xp is installed, If I use that one it would be installing two OS's in the same partition. After that, what can I do, delete the drive C partition and create a new one, or what can I do?? I would appreciate the help!

If you are going to delete the old partition, now would be the perfect time to segment (or partition) the disk into two partitions and you can do this within the setup from XP. XP will see the entire drive as say 40000 mb for a 40 gig drive, tab over and change that number to 20000 and you will now have 2 20 gig partitions.
One for the OS and programs and one for your data.
