When does Vista SP1 officially get released (non-beta)?

Hi everyone. I am looking forward to Vista SP1. I have Home Premium. Has it offically been released by Microsoft yet? If not, does anyone know when it will be? Also, would it show up as an update in "Windows Update" when it is released? Thanks for any help in advance!

It was released This Tuesday the 18th, it should show up in your Windows updates, if it does not then there is a problem with one of your drivers or installed software.

"Windows Update will recognize PCs with known problematic drivers and postpone downloading Windows Vista SP1 until the PC has updated drivers or other applicable updates. Using Windows Update will help ensure you have the most trouble-free update experience possible."

Thank you! Well, it's not showing up in Windows Update. I have gotten every single update ever made available for Vista Home Premium through Windows Update, though. If I download the standalone package and install it, will it mess up my computer because "Windows Update will recognize PCs with known problematic drivers etc..."? My hardware/software consists of:

An Inspiron 1520, Nvidia 8600M GT, Sigmatel HD audio, 160GB 5400RMP Seagate HDD, 2GB of RAM, 8X DVD+RW drive, and Vista Home Premium (with every update ever made available to me installed).

Thanks again!

1. Possibley, do it at your own risk. I do not suggest it.

2. Yes, windows update does recognize PC with problematic drivers or software, that is why it does not show up.

for the record, SP1 did not show up in my windows update despite not having any of the listed "problematic" software or hardware.  i have installed the standalone and everything seems to be working just fine.

the solution has been noted in many threads -- here is one such thread.

Thanks again for the help! With some more digging, I found that I have one driver that Windows Update finds to be "problematic" with SP1. It's the x86 SigmaTel Audio Driver for my Inspiron 1520. I suppose I could create a restore point, and then install the standalone package, and see how it plays out. The worst I suppose would be having no audio after the SP1 install. Then I could just restore back to before SP1.

Only a handful of drivers will make SP1 not appear in Windows Update, and I'm lucky enough to have one of them. I guess most other Inspiron 1520 users have the same issue. I am going to look for updates for the sound driver, and post back here if I find one.

If anyone has a solution and/or update for this "problematic" driver, it would be great if you would let me know!

Thanks again!
