Will upgrading to XP solve some browser issues?
I have ME and have IE for my browser. I also have Norton Internet Security and Virus Protection. I have been having trouble with some websites closing all browsers that I have open (even if only one). I am also having problems with "java script error" showing up when clicking on some links. The links will not take me where I need to go, it just shows an error. Will upgrading to XP solve these issues? I have already tried to re-install IE several times. Microsoft and Dell have not been able to give me any sound advice to date. Thanks to anyone that can help.

Since most of the problems being reported with Internet Explorer these days is due to spyware and other internet parasites, you might first want to try to remove all of this garbage. See the message from ChrisRLG at the top of this forum:

Upgrading to XP will not likely solve the problems if they are due to spyware and parasites if you simply upgrade over your existing installation of Windows. A clean install (formatting your hard drive and installing XP) will solve the problem, but the problem will come back if your web browsing habits continue to take to sites that download the parasites.
If getting rid of the spyware and parasites doesn't solve your problem, post back.
