Win XP install on Mini 9 (with Ubuntu) causes blue screen with Stop error message

I have an Inspiron Mini 9 with Ubuntu installed (as purchased).  I need to switch to Win XP.  I have imaged the Ubuntu system so I can put it back at a later date.  When I try to install Win XP I get a blue screen with a Stop error message.  My Mini 9 has a 32GB SSD installed.  Am I out of storage space?  Do I have to uninstall Ubuntu somehow before I can install Win XP?  I can do without the Ubuntu for now, but I really need to get XP going on this baby.  The XP install CD is my own so I know it is good.  Is it possible a driver for the SSD needs to be installed during XP installation (e.g., when XP Install asks for SCSI and RAID drivers)?  Also, once XP is installed, can the Dell Mini 9 drivers be installed onto a USB flash drive and installed from there?

Thanks for any help here.

Jeff

As I see it you have 2 options. You need to F6 install the sata drivers either through a floppy installation or slipstream your xp installation with the drivers already inserted into the slipstreamed cd. I don't think you can access the usb drive to install the drivers if booting straight from the W cd and using F6 install. Good Luck...

I don't have a floppy drive on the Mini 9.

So the hard disk in the Mini 9 has a SATA interface?

Exactly *how* would I "slipstream" the drivers into the XP Install CD?  (What does 'slipstream' mean?)

thanks,

jeff
