Window xp update error 0x8007000B

Hei
i have been using windows xp from last two years, fews days ago its automatic updates stopped and if i try to update, it dont open update website, instead it give error 0x8007000B. I have consulted microsoft they are very slow in answering email and problem is still there. in the beginning i was getting error 0x80072EE7, i followed microsoft support's suggestion that were unseccessfull then i noticed that the error changed into this 0x8007000B error without solving update problem. What should i do, how can i fix it? please help me.
I am using ADSL broadband cable, i am not sure that iam behind router, or how iam connected as i dont have good knowledge about modem/router, if router is causing this problem then please tell me how should i find the router and what to do to fix it.
I would realy appreciate your precious help.

Khalid4349,

Did you use the following Microsoft procedure?:

1. Opening Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools|Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced Tab.
3. Under "HTTP 1.1 Settings, remove the check in the block beside "Use HTTP 1.1"
4. Place a check in the block beside "Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections"
5. Try Windows Update again.
6. If you still have problems with Windows Update, put checks beside both "Use HTTP 1.1" and "HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections"  and try Windows Update again;.

Khalid4349,

Ok.  Obviously something is stopping update site.  Try the suggestions on this link:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836941

Note that these suggestions refer to the original error you received.  You may need to disable any firewall program and enable Windows firewall.  Weird, but as Microsoft points out.  Updates to other programs can sometimes throw things out of kilter.

Let us know how you fare.
