Have you attempted system restore to a time before you installed the program(s)?

Yes, I did a system restore. I also did a scan now with the original cd installation disk to try and repair but nothing changed. When I searched for msiexec.exe, the file could not be found. This problem occurred when I downloaded a program and another program loaded with it. When I found out, I unistalled both programs and ran malwarebytes to see if computer was infected but showed it wasn't but that was when the problems started. I looked at the msidll info and it showed that it had been visited on the date I downloaded the programs so I'm sure that was the cause. Guess it wasn't leaving any malware unless malwarebytes didn't recognize it, but did corrupt the windows sysytem.

This issue is being handled at another forum. The unwanted game that was installed is hosted at a site with Web Of Trust's "low confidence" /malicious content rating. Based on that, and on other symptoms, mrbowler is working to remove malware with a security analyst at SpywareHammer. Therefore, this topic is closed.
