Windows Mail

Hello,

I just bought the Inspiron 530 and transfered my setting. All went well except I have Widows Mail set to send and receive automatically but I keep getting an error message. The settings are exactly the same as my Dell laptop and my old computer that work except my new system has Trend Micro preinstalled and my other systems had Norton. When I first start Mail or if I just hit receive I get my email and when I send a message it goes thru. Has anyone else had this problem and could it be Trend Micro?

Thanks,

Hello,

I have it set to check every 5 minutes but it doesn't. The only time I can get mail is when I hit receive all. If I try send and receive nothing happens. As I wrote, my laptop and old computer had the exact same settings and worked great. The only thing I can see different is the virus protection. My other 2 systems had Norton and my new one has preinstalled Trend Micro. Could this be the problem?

Thanks for your quick reply,

I'm not familiar with Trend Micro, but it might be a firewall setting. Disable the firewall and see if this rectifies the problem. If it does, then there is some setting within the firewall that needs to be tweaked. It's odd however that Receive All works and yet Send and Receive does not.

Check the server port numbers in the setup, those could have chnaged since you last setup mail.
