WINDOWS ME BOOT MESSAGE
WHEN I BOOT A SCREEN COMES UP THAT SAYS PRESS DEL TO CONTINUE. WHEN I DO THIS, IT WILL BOOT UP TO WINDOWS. WHAT CAN I DO TO COMPLETE THE BOOT WITHOUT PRESSING THE DELETE KEY? YOU GUYS ARE SO SMART. I HAVE LEARNED A LOT FROM THIS FORUM. THANKS

BWJ,
The next time this happens ( before you press delete ) note the colors of the 4 led lights on the back of the computer. Post that information here and someone will steer you in the right direction.
Also post as much information about your computer as possible ie model, amount of ram, etc.

BEFORE PRESSING DELETE THE LIGHTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: A-YELLOW B-GREEN C & D -YELLOW
COMPUTER IS DELL DIMENSION 41OO 512 RAM
PENTIUM III - 1 GHz

Hi:
I have a dim. 4100 and had the same problem. This url may be of some help in understanding the diagnostic lights and some suggestions on what to do.

I tried removing and replacing the cards with no success. Finally I ran a diagnostic on my hard and it warned me of an imminate failure so I replaced my hard drive. That did the trick. This is not a software problem so you might get more info. in the general hardware forum. Good luck
