Windows Media Center...is there a cure?

Question

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron e1505 lap with XP Media Center preinstalled. I finally got it to add music and now it won't stop! It's made duplicates of my 500 some music files and now shows over 1300. I delete em in Media Center and it starts adding more. Is there a way to fix this or to uninstall this runaway program? I don't see much support info out there on the web. Please help...

Kos.... When you select the files to be deleted, DO NOT move the cursor. If you see a shadow when you highlite them, they will be duplicated.

i tried that...saw no shadow...deleted about 5 songs and it added about 10 or 15...is there a way to uninstall this monster?

Is it really duplicating the files or just adding shortcuts to the originals?

No it's actually adding the songs...over 1400 so far...and when i delete them it seemes to add 3 times as many as i delete...i really need some uninstall advice...
