Windows Media Player Can't Play MPG/MPEG Files
Using Windows 2000 Pro and Windows Media Player 9.00.00.3250 I can
play AVI, WMV, MIDI, MP3 files, etc. with no problem. However when I
try and play an MPG or MPEG file I get one of two Errors, either
30190005. (Trying to expand this and see more from the Microsoft Web
Site is less than helpful) or " Problem occurred in initializing MCI".
None of these errors shows in the Control Panel/Event Viewer. One
workaround I've discovered is that I can put the MPG file in Virtual
Dub and convert it to an AVI file and it plays OK. Following some advice,

I have reregistered "regsvr32quartz.dll"
Hopefully someone can shed some light on this problem for me.
