windows service packs help??

I really need some help! I’m running Windows XP home and have all the updates I go to the windows update site often to make sure so I know I’m up to date. BUT a week ago for some stupid reason I uninstalled one of the windows service packs, after realizing what I did I went back and reinstalled it. But now I’m having all kinds of trouble with getting some programs to run I get a message saying can’t find the file, and then something about the service pack. HELP what I can do.

Thank you Les

Use System Restore (Start / Programs / Accessories / System Tools  / System Restore) to restore your computer to an earlier time, before the problem occured. If you haven't used this before, read the XP Help Files - search for System Restore. When all is OK, reinstall the updates you need.
