Windows update won't configure
Hi
My Dell Inspiron 1501 is running Vista and it has been struggling to configure updates properly since I bought it two years ago. I attempted to install 16 'important' updates today and when windows proceeded to shut down and restart the familar message appeared 'Updates were not configured correctly. Reverting changes'. Is there a fix for this that I can download? From new, the computer has tried to install the same 17 or 23 updates at regular intervals. I've recently downloaded recommended updates/drivers from the Dell website.

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
There seems to be many post on the Web with the same error. No resolution from MS. I did see that one user resolved the issue by only installing a few updates at a time and not all at once. You can also try a system restore.
