Windows Vista OS networked to Server running Windows Server 2003?

Question

I have not yet installed Windows vista on my laptop.  My question, if I did (xps 1710 WV capable) would I still be able to participate with my office network when I plug in?  All workstations are running xp pro (what I have now) and the server is running Windows Server 2003.  I don't want to have to upgrade everything in the office to Vista at this point in time but I would like to upgrade my laptop if this is not an issue.  Thanks for any help

Yes, a domain will make it easier.

Thanks mombodog, I'll give it a try using the criteria on MS web pages.  It is a domain I'll be connecting to so hopefully that will simplify things.

I am actually runnning on a Dell PE 1600SC, Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise Server with Latitude D820 Vista Ultimate, and PWS 530 Windows XP/SP2 clients. Workgroup configuration. It works without any problems
