Somewhere along the way I picked up a Quicktime icon in the notifications area (right side of the taskbar). The icon is there, but the Quicktime software is nowhere to be found on the computer. It is an absolutely useless icon with only two valid options and that is to go to the Quicktime website or to  Exit. This is a less than worthless icon. It always comes back at every reboot.:smileysurprised:

 

The Quicktime program itself is not here. It doesn't even show up on the "Programs and Features" display so there's no apparent option for uninstalling this thing in a conventional way. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of that stupid icon besides sawing my computer in half and throwing it into the river (which might become an option if the irritation factor continues to grow).:smileymad:
