Windows Vista with Nero

Question

I bought Nero from Dell,  I download the latest version from www.nero.com .  As Nero said, the update download is compatible with Windows Vista but  Windows Vista did not let the Nero installation go through.  I saw that the process extracted the cab files and Windows Vista checked it up and then it was not responding. No software installed.  I tried twice but nothing better.  Does anyone has the same problem as mine?  Is there anyway to fix my problem for installing the software.  Any help is appreciated.

I have a retail Nero Ultra V7.  I didn't have any problems with the latest update.    I'd contact Nero support as it should install without problems.  You may have to completely remove Nero and then run the update by itself and then enter your registration information.  I was told by Nero support to do that when I got a new PC, rather than install the Retail version and then do an update.

I get an error message when exiting Nero Vision, but it seems to encode and burn the video just fine.  Other than that, no problems.   Dave

I have exactly the same issue with installing Nero as zwollenaar1. I've downloaded Nero-7.8.5.0 trial edition from their website and I have a brand new Dell Dimension 9200 PC with Vista Home Premium. I'm very reluctant to buy a retail copy of Nero and experience the same issues.   I've had my new PC for 3 weeks now and it's been diffcult getting any thing to work with Vista. I spent over a week trying to get it to recognise my Creative Zen Vision:M player, eventually the only solution was to disable and reinstall my USB ports. None of the creative software works.
