Windows XP drivers?

I was having some problems with Windows XP Pro on one of my laptops so I decided to re-install it.  The re-installation went well except for when I tried to adjust the resoution of my monitor it wouldn't let me go higher that 640x480 and 16 bit.  I went into the device manager and found out that all the drivers under "Other devices" are not installed. They include; Base System Device,Base System Device,Ethernet Controller,Network Controller,Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller,Video Controller,Video Controller(VGA Compatible).  Do i just need to download and install the drivers or how can I fix this?  Thanks

You need to download and install the drivers specific for your notebook.

Go to the download section and follow the instructions.  You can find a quick link in the bottom of the left column.

THIS LINK will give you the order in which to install the drivers.

Unless your PC is like mine. Dell is 2 months behind Intel on drivers and thats jnjust on my Inspiron 1505. Who knows how many other differernt PC setups video issues could be resolved in XP if Dell kept up to date with Manufacturer drivers...... - The Troll -

No one knows what computer you are talking about.  Do you have to install all of the drivers?

That is a hard question to answer.  It really depends on your computer model.

Intel chipset - Yes
Dell system software - depends
video driver - yes
Network (NIC) driver - maybe - do you have a network card?
Sound card - yes
Modem - maybe - do you have one?
Wireless network card - maybe - do you have one?
Bluetooth - maybe - do you have one?
Smartcard controller - maybe
Touchpad - maybe - is your system a notebook?
Other - depends on what you have.

You are not giving us any information about your computer.
