Windows XP User Accoutn / Folder name

Okay... Using XP, and with normal use, if the Admin acct is named something like ABC, under the C:\Documents and Settings Folder are the user accounts, including one for ABC. No problem.

However, I have changed the User Accoutn name (say to XYZ)... But under the C:\Documents and Settings Folder, it is still listed as ABC. I cannot change it doing a simple Rename, as it says it is a protected folder....

Is there a way to change the name at the C:\Documents and Settings Folder?????

When you changed the user account name all that happend was that the display name changed.I believe it has somrthing to do with what is called SID.

You could create a new account and transfer the files from the old account to the new account than delete the old account.

This link instructs how to change the name.

NOTE: I would be very careful since this may cause problems, this you attempt at your own risk.

Thanks for the info...

I think I'll be leaving it be for now. It's nothing major, just kind of something I thought there must be some easy answer for....
