WINXP-xps400 no bootup, no screen, nothing!!

Question

I turn the computer on and NOTHING>>>> I can't do anything.

I was trying the update the BOIS by patch xp051a07.exe. The computer crashed and now nothing shows up. I can't F8. There isn't a responce. No blue screen, XP.. Three loud beeps.

I guess reinstalling is around the corner but any other suggestions?? I have to wait for Dell to send the original software to reinstall...

Don’t see a 3-single-beep code, what about LED diagnostics status?

Does the F2 key work during boot up (BIOS SetUp options)?

If it does, there may still be hope?

For flash BIOS expert help, better if you post in Dimension > BIOS Forum Board

Not trying to use you as an example, but if the computer is running fine, it's best to not go monkeying around with the BIOS.....   Used to be a saying like ...  ' If it ain't broke, don't go fixin' it '.... :smileywink:   You could always borrow a Dell reinstall disk from a neighbor or friend, providing it is the same Windows version as yours. That might speed up a resolution for you..   Good luck.
