WMI tool for XP pro 64b needs "elevated" administrator rights - How do I get them?

In XP/2003, all Administrators run everything in elevated mode (with administrator privileges).  In Vista/7/2008, everything is run, by default, with lower privileges.  Some programs will prompt you to approve (or to enter an admin's credentials to approve) an action that must run with elevated (administrator) privileges.  Other programs must be "Run as Administrator" to get elevated privileges to run it.  

If you were using Vista or 7, it would be necessary to right-click the program and "Run as Administrator".  But, with XP, in short, if your XP user is a local administrator, then it will already run it in "elevated" mode.  Is your user account a local administrator?  If not, then it needs to be.  If so, you can try running it explicitly as the administrative user by holding the SHIFT button down while right-clicking the file and choosing Run As, entering an admin's username and password.

Thanks for the reply, Flash.  Yes, in all my reading that is what I have found:  No reference to "elevated" administrator except in Vista or 7.  But what you say about local administrator gives me hope that there is much I do not know about administrator privileges.  But, I do not know how to become a local administrator.  I am using the administrator account that was created when XP was installed.  I tried to look in the user properties, but cold find nothing about local.  I only found change-password or change-name.   I tried holding down the SHIFT key to run WMIDiag.vbs but the message was the same:  "User'MWXP-130\ADMINISTRATOR' does not have enough privileges to run WMIDiag.  You must be a FULL administrator of the computer!".

So, Flash, I am missing something.  What could it be?

Right-click My Computer, Manage, Local Users/Groups, Groups, and double-click the Administrators group to see if your user is listed there.  It is possible to have a user named Administrator who is not an actual administrator on the PC.  Under Users, what other users are listed?

Thanks for the reply.  MY administrator is "Administrator" and the users listed there are "Administrator", "Harriet Parker", "Morgan Pierce", "Pee Wee", "Poyet" and "TEST".
