www. problems

Everytime I try to put in a web address it doesn't work unless I put in http://. I used to be able to just put www.whatever.com, now I have to type out the whole thing. Any clues on how to fix would be great....

I was able to do as you suggested, but it didn't work.  I open up my explorer and it just keeps going to the same site c:\searchpage.html .  I don't think anything will work unless I get this site off of my computer..

Paul336633,

Download either Ad-aware from here and/or Spybot from here. Check online for updates to their databases then run either and delete all the spyware they identify.

Paul336633,

Go to Start|Run, enter regedit and click OK. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\URL\DefaultPrefix. The entry for [Default] in the right pane should be "http://" (including quotation marks). If it is not, right-click on [Default}, choose Modify, and enter it.

Paul336633,

I am thinking that you need to reboot after modifying HKEY.
