X64 Vista and Generic Volume Issue in Device Manager
This post may be a moot point 'if' I decide to upgrade to Win 7. However, here it goes. Has anyone had a problem with unknown drivers (under Storage Volumes) in Device Manager on X64 Vista? The subfolders of the 'Storage Volumes' Folder are labeled 'Generic Volume' and there are four of them. When I check these folders, I see the driver version is 6.0.6002.18005 and driver date is 06/21/06. Also under properties (under the general tab), it states 'the device cannot start (code 10)). I have checked for solutions on the web but have came up with nothing. I am not even sure what the Generic Volume (with subfolders called Storage Volumes) in Device Manager is all about. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have noticed a number of error codes when I pull up Event Viewer in Win X64 Vista. However, I cannot pinpoint anything directly to this issue in Device Manager.

Well, I am posting my own reply here. Acronis True Image Home 2009 was the culprit. As soon as I uninstalled this program from my PC, the error message in Device Manager (as described above) went away. I am going to have to do more research before putting Acronis TI Home back on my system.
