This isn't related to my problem. My laptop is not stuck in airplane mode. It sometimes seems to switch to airplane mode automatically between the time I close the lid and open it back up again the next day.

Are you able to shut the system down using the power options button from the start menu?  This question depends on whether you have Fast Startup disabled or not.

I'm having this same issue. I close the laptop down, and sometimes when I open it again it's in airplane mode.

sounds like the same issue people have on the xps 13 9365.

the airplane mode only becomes active after the attempt to hibernate. People suggested in the other thread to reset the real time clock RTC, or basically reset the bios. However for some it worked not for me.

besides the airplane mode is ur notebook out of battery next morning?

I'm having the same issue with my XPS 15. Originally I had the problem where I couldn't shut down - it would just go straight back to the log in screen. Fast boot was suggested as the potential cause of this so I disabled it. But I have been having the issue where when I close the lid it goes in to flight mode - particularly annoying as I use a bluetooth mouse which then takes a while to reconnect.

It very often seems to go from having lots of battery left to empty when I come to use it again after closing the lid. All of these problems feel to be related and did happen I believe after the creators update.
