Your account ahs been disabled. Please see your system admin.

I mistakenly checked to disable the admin and user account associated with the PC, thinking this would cancel having to login through an account every time we logged in to Windows on this PC. We have 2 PC's in the household. I've looked around and gotten an idea of what to do, but nothing so far has worked. I have tried to access that PC through our in home network, but it won't let me login without a user account and those accounts have been disabled. Right now when that PC boots up, it goes to the login window saying "to begin, pelase click your username." Well, like I said, there is nothign to click there. Pressing control alt delete brings up the login popup window but when trying that, it says the account was disabled. Type in administrator leaving the password space blank says that such an account does not exist. Any help would be more than appreciated here. I would just reinstall windows on that PC, but my wife has thousands of pictures of the baby, other kids, family etc, so whiping that is worst case scenario. Thanks!

That does me no good. As I have said I tried that method, the default admin account is disabled. When you try to log on via the admin account, using no password as the password is null by default, it says the the account name or password is non existent. I can't start - run anything because I can't get passed the windows login

Try logging in with the default (system) administrator account:

To logon as Computer default Administrator; (& default Administrator account isn't shown)
For XP PRO;
Use normal mode , at Welcome Screen press Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys together TWICE.
For XP Home;
Use Safe Mode & at Welcome Screen press keys TWICE.
To enter Safe Mode press F8 key many times during startup until Menu is displayed
then use Arrow keys to select Safe Mode & press Enter key.
The default Administrator password is blank unless you have set one. (the Default Administrator Password isn't your Computer/Administrator password)
(If you have Auto logon set , use Log Off to show Log On  Screen.)
(If you use Classic Log On box  enter  Administrator for PRO normal mode & Home safe mode)
Once in, reenable the user accounts.

For the proper method to bypass the login screen and login directly with a user account, see:

You should be able to get into safe mode

Also try safe mode with networking  and create another account with Admin priviledges.

Another thing you can try is when prompted to enter password type administrator,not sure upper or lower case.

All 3 safe mode types did not work, originally. I did some more reading around and some googling. I used the OS disc and repaired windows. For whatever reason, I was then able to access the Admin window in Safe mode. Prior to the repair, I was not. Somehow, assuming a virus, changed the settings to disable the admin account and user accounts. This is why even in safe mode previously, the admin account did not work. I'm assuming something was patched/fixed when I repaired windows and accessed the login menu during safe mode the 2nd time around. Regardless, my problem is fixed and my wife is not allowed to go to sites without me checking first.

If you want ot save the data, take the system down to your local ma & pa computer shop and ask them to plug your HD into another PC as a second HD, they can then boot fromt he first HD and copy your files off to a DVD.

If you're confident with PCs, you could do this yourself. Simply boost the drive into another PC as a second drive, or buy a USB HD caddy and install it in that.
