Updating firmware cannot power down

Question

My computer was charging and when I can home I opened to it stating Updating your firmware do not power down system and says flash progress is at 0% but has been stuck on this all night and won’t let me force shut down. Not sure what to do! I see others have had this issue but I don’t see a fix?
