Allowing applications to update
Hi everyone,
Has anyone managed to allow installed applications on the Wyse Thin Client (Windows 10 IoT) to updated while the write filter is enabled?
Devices are managed from an on-prem WMS.

Has anyone managed to allow installed applications on the Wyse Thin Client (Windows 10 IoT) to updated while the write filter is enabled?

You could leverage Write filter exclusions to allow directories to be changed, but you would need to be 100% sure you know what and where apps perform their updates.

The intent of leveraging a purpose-built OS like Windows 10 IOT is to have central control of settings and applications to provide greater stability of the end user environment. Allowing applications on the device to update on their own would be bypassing that stratgey, and if that is your goal then a PC based approach may be better for you than a thin client based approach,
