WMS 4.3 - standard license renewal procedure?

Hello,

I am preparing to upgrade my WMS from version 4.1.1 (standard) to 4.3 HF1 (standard). I have a question regarding the license renewal process, because in Dell's article https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000220228/wyse-management-suite-standard-installation-changes - in the 3rd question of the FAQ section, it is said, that "customers return to the same page to generate a new key". I have prepared a small lab and upgraded a clone of my WMS on a different VM. Then I altered the system clock to be 29.04.2026 (to simulate an expiration of the license). After I log in - I can see a message that the license is expired and all sections of the WMS are locked.

Does anyone know where to put the newly generated license key to the WMS in that situation? Will TCs stop communicating with the WMS if the license is expired? I would like to know that before I upgrade my production installation :-)

Kind Regards,

Przemek

  1. Get a new license key from where you got the old one.
  2. Log in to WMS.
  3. Go to license settings.
  4. Put in the new key.
  5. Save and restart.
  6. Your WMS should be good to go!

As for TCs, usually they'll still work even if the license is expired, but it's best to check with Dell just to be sure.

Hi

Do you mean the "Enter license key" field at the bottom of the Portal Administration -> Account -> Subscription page? I am not sure if this is for the Cloud subscription only and I am using an On-Prem installation (sorry - I did not mention that in my previous post). If you put anything to that field - you get a warning that you are about to upgrade your license from Standard to Pro. So I am confused, if this field is used for both: On-Prem and Cloud licenses...

Following.  I have a similar issue.  After migrating my virtual server from one machine to another, my license expired.  So I applied for a new license and my server won't take the new one.
