Same issue when attempting nested VM control

I'm having the above mentioned repeating key problem when:

1.) Using PocketCloud to connect via VNC to my laptop
2.) Then the VMware remote console to control a virtual machine.

When controlling the virtual machine (Windows XP), the last letter or number key I press on the phone will repeat endlessly until I either:

1.) Send backspace or another "special key" from the phone or
2.) Press any key on the laptop's physical keyboard.

However, all the keys work great and do NOT stick if I am only controlling the host laptop OS and other applications. (Windows 7 Pro).

Versions:

Wyse Pocketcloud for Android 1.0 (Paid version, not FREE)
Phone: T-Mobile G1 (HTC Dream), Running Android 2.1
Host OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
- UltraVNC Server 1.0.8.2
- VMware Remote Console 2.5.0 build-122581
- VMware Server 2.0.2 Build 203138
- - Virtual Machine OS: WinXP Pro SP3

We have seen this issue with certain apps on a rdp session. Do not know the reason yet. Does this happen with other os/apps? which application are you using to type...

Is anyone watching this thread? I too am having the same problem. Unfortunately it renders an otherwise great product unusable. We really need to get this resolved. (I am using PocketCloud Pro 1.1 on an Android X connecting to VNC on a Ubuntu 8.04 server.)

Can you please confirm this does not happen with any other VNC Client? We believe this might be a problem with the VNC server but cannot confirm.

We are looking into this issue.
What keyboard settings do you use - Samsung keypad or Swype?

For Samsung Galaxy:
1) Samsung Galaxy Settings > Locale and Text > Select imput method > Choose SWYPE
2) Launch PocketCloud > connect to your machine and check if it still repeating keys

Let me know if it works

I, too, am having this issue. The VNC server I'm using is X11VNC, and it's being used under Debian Sid.

It looks like the problem is it isn't receiving a key release. Disabling key repeat on the server doesn't seem to help either, as it's re-enabled by the client as soon as a key is pressed.

Same issue too with vmware server 2 and vncserver.
I'm using a folio 100 tablet.
Too bad since with this problem, the application is useless.

Also not working on CentOS 5.5 default VNC. Keys keep repeating.

Well, it's through VNC, not RDP.

But, unfortunately I haven't been able to try it with any other OS.

It does it anywhere I type. I've seen it happen in the password box on the login screen. It happens in Google search. In OpenOffice Writer. Basically, it's not just limited to a single piece of software.

To give a little more detail, if I put the cursor in a text box (Writer for example), it will blink as normal. As soon as I push a key it will just start repeating that key over and over again. I have noticed that if (while it's still going), I click in another text box, then it will start repeating that key there. So, I doubt it's specific to any particular application.

Also, I use a Nexus One, so it's the soft keyboard.

Any update? I am testing the free version on my motorola droid x connecting to freebsd 8.1 using freebsd ports found in /usr/ports/net/vnc. Everything works great except for the repeating keys. I haven't tested other vnc daemons as of yet, but it androidvnc doesn't have this issue. I would like to continue using wyse because it seems to be a much better product I will test tightvnc when I am at console.

Well I am on Droid X, not Galaxy but I tested it with Swype and it still repeated the last key. I also tested with Google's voice recognition input and it repeated last key as well. TightVNC is compiling as we speak.
