No keyboard when paired with Bluetooth bar code scanner
No keyboard when paired with Bluetooth bar code scanner
I have a Toshiba Thrive with android 3.2.1 and Pocketcloud Pro 1.2.280 If I pair a Bluetooth scanner with my tablet I cannot open the keyboard. I have tried the button on the pointer as well as the three finger tap.

If you unpair the bluetooth scanner does the keyboard functionality return?

Hi Josh, yes the keyboard will open if I unpair the scanner. I have been comparing Pocketcloud Pro with 2X client, which has a software keyboard built into the app instead of using the Android keyboard. The 2X client keyboard works when the scanner is paired. I have found Pocketcloud Pro is much faster at rendering screens, but I need to be able to use a keyboard and Barcode scanner at the same time.

Do you have a bluetooth keyboard as well? If you pair with that and the scanner are you able to input text with the keyboard?
It sounds as though your mobile device sees the scanner as a keyboard rather than a different kind of bluetooth device. Because of this, it is disabling the keyboard within our application. There isn't much we can do about this unfortunately.

Having same problem...
Hi lilycan,
Did you find an answer to this? What type of barcode scanner are you using? Let me know and I'll help any way that I can. Or you can call me directly at the number on this android barcode scanner page. Just ask for Al.
