URL Logging Program for WYSE WMS???
URL Logging Program for WYSE WMS???
I am new to the forum and glad one does exist. I also and not real sure I am posting this in the right section...moderator, move if appropriate.
I am a technology director at a school district of about 1500 students. We have recently changed over to a WYSE Thin Computing System. I have some challenges I hope some of you can help me with. I do know that as I figure things out, I will be able to share with you.
I should tell you that I come from education into this job. I have a technician who manages the server and users.
I manage him and the administrative aspect of the system and every other piece of tech in our district.
First Major Q: I need to find a program that is going to track the internet history of every user, not device. It has to work on the WMS software. I never buy any tool without looking at reviews. However, I think this may be the only place I can get reviews of software for this platform. We are not using VMWare. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
We have about 500 of the r100's that have 1.5 GB of RAM.
Thanks for any and all info,
John G

I assume you mean the R10L connecting to a terminal server with RDP? The thin client doesn't connect to the internet, the RDP session does. Meaning that you need URL monitoring on the server or better would be a web filter appliance installed on the network. The R10L runs Wyse ThinOS zero engine firmware and doesn't have a browser. This makes it very secure and free from virus and vulnerabilities, but also means that you can't run any local applications. Whatever you connect it to will have the browser. Maybe a member of the forum can give a recommendation on the software they use, but the thin client isn't involved in that part of it.
