Resetting P20 to factory default configuration

Question Resetting P20 to factory default configuration

Hello all,

I currently have about 20 P20 zero clients I have taken over administration of after the last administrator left. I do not have the administrator password and it is not the default password. Is there a way to reset the zero client to its factory default configuration or am I stuck with boxes that are out of date?

Many thanks,

Joe

You will need to get the challenge code from each unit and provide them to Wyse Tech Support so you can unlock the devices. If you don't know how to get the challenge codes, go www.wyse.com/ manuals and search for "p20 documentation". The manual has all the instructions.

Roger,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it looks like to get the challenge code you have to have the administrator password, which I do not have. It appears that our zero clients have become paperweights unless we can get the password.

Joe,
Please review the documentation. You need to press the "Reset" button and it will provide you with a "Challenge Code". You need to provide this code to Wyse Technical Support for them to get you a "Response Code". Once you enter this code, you will be able to reset the password for the client. Note the the challenge/response codes are unique for each client and cannot be used more than once.

If the client password becomes lost, you can click the Reset button to request a response code from Dell Technical Support at 1-800-800-9973 option 4 or by opening a case through the Dell Self-Service Portal at support.wyse.com/selfservice.html. The challenge code is sent to Dell Technical Support. Dell Technical Support qualifies the request and returns a response code if authorized by Teradici. When the response code is correctly entered, the client's password is reset to an empty string. You must enter a new password.

Note: Contact Dell Customer Support for more information when an authorized password reset is required. This option is not available through the AWI. It is only available through the OSD.
