Bios update XPS 8940 from 2.3.2021 Version 2.011 throws errors in windows event viewer
The last update 2.011 for the XPS 8940 bios throws errors in windows event viewer:
Die Energieverwaltungsfeatures für den Leerlauf sind für den Prozessor "11" in der Gruppe "0" aufgrund eines Firmwareproblems deaktiviert. Wenden Sie sich an den Computerhersteller, um aktualisierte Firmware zu erhalten.
The idle power management features are disabled for processor "11" in group "0" due to
a firmware problem. Contact the computer manufacturer for updated firmware
Some ideas to stop this?

I just followed the directions in the link and it worked. You're not replacing the battery. You're taking it out (following directions) and putting it back in for a reset. Just make sure you follow the directions.

You may not need to remove the graphics card - I didn't need to. You just need small hands to get to the battery. It took less than 5 minutes. Also there was no need to worry about the BIOS settings since I never changed them.
Just had to set time and date when it restarted.
I had the same doubts as you but I was glad afterwards

Is there another workaround?
The PC is pretty new. I don´t want to open it, pull the graphiccard and replace the battery. I am a little afraid of losing my warranty...

1. Turn the power off to PC, and unplug the AC cord
2. Press and hold the power button for 30 sec.
3. Open the case and remove the coin-cell battery
4. Press and hold the power button for 30 sec.
5. Reinstall the coin-cell battery
6. Close the case, reconnect the AC cord
7. Reboot the PC
